Since 1987, South Carolina’s The Blue Dogs have been pulling bits from bluegrass, country, and rhythm & blues to season its own roots-rock stew, which produces a sound made of a strong vocal blend of band leaders Bobby Houck (acoustic guitar) and Hank Futch (upright bass) mixed with twangy guitars, pedal steel and percussion, for upbeat and entertaining extemporaneous shows that rock.
